Sunday, January 6, 2019 Thursday night (January 3rd), Tom looked at me and asked: “Do you want to head to Jekyll Island in Georgia?” I now have no doubt that he can read my moods and tell that I was indeed ready for a trip. Tom pretends that this trip is all about ME – but I suspect that he was equally dreaming of a mid-winter-get-away. Thus began a flurry of unexpected P&P (packing and preparation) for a 2-week retreat from Ohio. On Friday we completed a major portion of the P&P, and on Saturday we broke away for a quick trip to spend time with our NOVA buds at the Columbus RV Show. The show itself was a complete dud – small and very limited in Airstreams . . . they had three!! But, the company and the fun of getting together made the trip completely worthwhile. We flocked around the Haydocy headquarters at the show, mostly concentrating on a social agenda (including a group picture), and then we herded to a nearby pub. . . and continued the talk-time. We finished up the P&P on Saturday night, and Sunday morning at 8:15 (30 degrees) we were all hooked up and pulled out of the driveway. Our first target was Yarberry Campground a campground we frequent when passing through Knoxville. The 9-hour drive was sunny with the temperatures reaching the 60’s as we crossed the border into Tennessee. While Tom drove, I started a new pine needle coil basket and found it easy to work on while riding. Along with us were Charlie Button and Jasper – both of whom seemed happy to be on the road again. By 5:00 we were set up in our favorite lake-side site and had time to walk the dogs before the dark moved in. The temperature dropped quickly as the sun disappeared, and we ate our grilled steak dinner and the rest of the evening in the Silvermine. Tease: I had a long-awaited sight-seeing trip planned for tomorrow.

What a perfect start to your little getaway!! Your truck and trailer looked shiny and ready to go in the driveway! And I love the start to your basket...keep the progress going in pictures. I’m going to start the coaster today and see how it goes!

We don’t go camping any more . . . we go ‘streamin’ ! The “SIlvermine and His” is our 2018 25' Airstream Serenity with Salsa interior and front twin beds., and ‘streamin’ is the name we use to describe our adventures. Stream along as we document everything from weekend trips to longer summer excursions and full-blown vacations. You know what they say: if you’re not in an Airstream – you’re just camping!
